After breakfast, we had about an hour left in the flight. It took a while, but Air France has truly upped its game and gotten itself back to the industry standard for premier international carriers by installing the reverse-herringbone business-class seats on its planes. Although I do wish the seats had more storage space, the streamlined design is excellent.

I thought the in-flight entertainment system was great, and I got a good rest on the lie-flat bed, thanks the comfy pillow and duvet. I have to say the thing that truly stood out was the service. The crew clearly took pride in their work and in the new business-class cabin, and were excited to see how much the passengers were enjoying it as well. Everyone I dealt with was charming, friendly and efficient. Glasses never went empty or unfilled, trays were removed as soon as I was finished with a dish and everyone made sure to stop by before we landed to see how I had enjoyed the flight.

NEVER use this seat. For seven hours flight was pretty good. I paid a premium to have access to this seat with extra leg room. I will try to take another seat another time! No room for under seat storage. This seat has a seat support in the middle of the foot space. This plane did have a foot rest - for those who are shorter. In general, all the economy seats are terrible.

Size and spacing is more like a charter flight. Only good thing is overhead locker space is better than normal. Overall the flight was very good, with decent seat legroom, good video entertainment, plenty of good food, and free drinks. Standard seat, power port V Ac shared with the other 2 seat. Usb port for each screen. Good IFE system. Camera on the front gear. The seats were fine, roomy, and there was plenty of overhead space.

The only problem was the foot room. This was made most uncomfortable by two factors: the pedal-like footrests that were in the way, and the metal strut supporting the seat in front of mine. I plan to eat in Paris so I take a measuring tape with me on flights, and found 31H was 33" tip of armrest to tip of armrest of pitch and 17" wide in between armrests. Inboard and outboard seats appeared to be aligned, therefore I'd say they were all 33" not 32" as AF claims , until the back of the cabin where the fuselage squeezes. Also the bulkhead seats in row 14 are very awkward to use a laptop at because the armrest-folding table is too narrow front to back and too close to the body. All the more so if you slump the seat. As we taxied out, I snapped some pictures of other aircraft. After boarding, I could not help but sneak a peak at the first class cabin. What a beauty! It has only four seats and on this flight had only one passengers. The lavatories are starting to show their age, but were kept clean. Amenities included shaving kits and Clarins toiletries. On the one hand, there is no doubt Air France is forced to step up its game on this particular route due to fierce competition from Emirates. AF economy and premium economy are also better than a lot of other airlines. Unfortunately, I do think the strikes have hurt, and I have been tending not to book them due to lack of competitive pricing. Try taking black coffee and add milk your own, which the French calls cafe au lait. My experience with that is much better onboard AF and in France generally. Simply wow. I ended up flying AF a lot over the course of the next year, during which they had a lot of strikes, but they never affected me via delays or cancelations, and certainly not with the in air product.

Maybe because I flew premium economy, usually on As.. Either way, AF is a top rate airline. What seats would you recommend in business class? Cabin crew really are fantastic.
